When we arrived to Indiana, first thing out of your Dads mouth to me was, I thought your Dad was rich. Now the reason he even said that is because I mentioned to him about the air plane Daddy had. Well to me it was his, given to him to use for company he worked for and no one else flew it that I know of. Our house was nicer than what his parents had at least to me..
Well sleeping arrangements in Daddy's house we didn't sleep together haha So Bob was given my bedroom I believe and me back with Cheri or in that room she might have been living with girl friends then can't remember. Well he got sooooo pissed at me. Why? Because I had a senior pic of guy I dated up on my bookshelf. Well he had died...now there is another story and family...as I believe Chuck witnessed or passed that accident.
Well Daddy got him a job through people he knew. First place was I think called CIA Fasteners. It was nuts bolts all kinds of stuff like that. He moved out then I think and got apartment on other side of town...just a 1 bedroom, small place.
Then we got married, well we had to go through blood tests back then, we had to go talk with our pastor and Mom got busy preparing for wedding. Well family did it all. Dad's sister Aunt Phyllis was my godmother, she sewed my wedding dress, Aunt Elba, Uncle Dick's wife helped with the size crowd food needed for as she worked in school kitchen and had the knowledge. So all preparation for me was done by Daddy's family not Moms. Even our hair was done at home, Mom had her stylist come to house to do everyone...so everything at home.
Well we got married in the Chapel as our church had both...big church held maybe 3000 people? Not sure but big for Lutheran Church and School I had gone to... Holy Cross. Con couldn't be in wedding as she was due with Michael Dean any time...So Cheri and Judy Meyers were my brides maids.. now Judy I think was Cheri's friend that just got really hooked on me, she became Catholic during our relationship and requested to take my name as her baptism name and they let her...shocked me thought the name had to be in the Bible...for confirmation name...as they added a name, so 4 names. So that weird to me.
Reception was at our home and Bob's family flew out as Betty was from Indiana, Elkhart. Her side came too and drove there. Grandpa Jacobs came too Bob's grandpa...don't remember Sis being there.
My dress cause I was PG was a light pink covered with white lace. Well in the news paper shot it just looks white. Only way you would know is color pics maybe.
Now I don't think, of course you could ask him he would have to check calendar probably but never knew our wedding date...was always a day early...well better early than late. We married 10/22/71.
